lyrics

there's a circle in the sky
and there's no reason why
one bird of prey flies on the wing
she soars the thermal air
in a feathered scent of myrrh
she waits alone and then she cries

( the waves of vapour cloud
drift by without a sound
the solar wind begins to sing
a song unto the night
she rises in her flight
and like a kadu kite she soars )

descends to make the kill
from way above the hill
one shrill and one more soul just dies
no mercy for the heart
and hark the perfect art
ascending back toward the skies

(higher n higher n higher n higher
the phoenix flames that burning fire
where centigrade and fahrenheit are one
toward her home above the trees
peaks of Earth in snow and freeze
she glides along the solar winds)

the avian ones defile
no time to reconcile
the hungry throats that must be fed
with the flesh of dying dreams
silenced now no longer screams
was it just a dream inside your head

( the waves of vapour cloud
drift by without a sound
the solar wind begins to sing
a song unto the night
she rises in her flight
and like a kadu kite she soars )

triangle on the page
this strong symbolic age
in a meditation for the mind
in sacred geometry
there's no more mystery
except for lies of history

( perpetuated tapestry
the wars go on, we're never free
the angels burn and souls are running dry
we live a tainted dream
we are the prey, we cry, we scream
if only we could learn to never die)

there's a message on the wall
fly well before you fall
live long and breathe the deepest breath
for soon will come the day
when colours fade away
one bird of prey, and her name is death
